Winter Program: Monday Excursions
Join us each Monday for a new adventure at some of our region’s most inspiring locations. Every session features hands-on programming designed to connect learners with nature, art, and local history.
Schedule Highlights:
- Nov 3 – Caramoor: Stroll through the sunken garden, enjoy a nature-led art project, and gather for lunch in the Education Building.
- Nov 10 – Pinecrest Community Center – Art & Culinary
- Nov 17 – Bedford Audubon: Discover the mysterious world of owls—their calls, behaviors, and habitats.
- Nov 24 – Hippie Feet Tie Dyes Workshops: Create seasonal tie-dyes followed by Music with Dr Mike
- Dec 1 – Merestead: Step back in time as local historian John Rhodes shares stories of the estate’s rich past.
- Dec 8 – Westmoreland Sanctuary: Create your own candle to take home, visit the animals, and enjoy a peaceful walk around the pond.
- Dec 15 – Holiday Art Workshops: Festive tie-dye with Hippie Feet Tie Dyes to celebrate the season

Join us on Tuesdays for our Winter Rewilding Adventures!
Discover the magic of the outdoors this winter with the Rewilding School! Each session invites learners and parents, to explore, create, and connect with nature through hands-on activities that spark curiosity, build confidence, and nurture creativity in the open air.
Special Bonus!
On select days, stay for our Community Music & Art, a joyful way to wrap up the day with singing, rhythm play, and imaginative art projects inspired by the natural world. Parents are warmly invited to join in, turning each Tuesday into a shared family adventure in learning and wonder.

Stories Alive! Literacy & Performances January Adventure

Bring your favorite stories to life in this joyful, creativity-filled month of storytelling and performance! Children will explore classic tales, such as Where the Wild Things Are or Caps for Sale, through dramatic play, art, and imagination.
Each week, young performers will:
- Act out stories through movement and storytelling
- Create their own costumes, sets, and props
- Bring characters and scenes to life through simple scripts
- Performance for families on January 26 at 1:30 PM.

10–11 AM | Outdoor Exploration
Uncover the wonders of the wild through nature investigations, survival skills, and seasonal discoveries.
11–12 PM | Music with Dr Mike
Bring the outdoors to life with music, rhythm, and art projects that blend creativity and nature-based learning.
Bonus! Monthly Community Art Class
Join Dr. Sue at the Mount Kisco Public Library (MTKPL) from 12:30–1:30 PM for a special community art session that celebrates connection, creativity, and nature-inspired expression.

This hands-on class led by Danielle Colavito, of Soul Shining Wellness, invites young learners to explore both soil-based and hydroponic gardening in a fun, supportive environment. Children will plant, experiment, and build small-scale growing systems as they discover how plants thrive in different settings. Through guided exploration, they’ll gain an appreciation for nature, teamwork, and the science of growing.

Be Here Now invites children and families to slow down, breathe deeply, and connect with the present moment. Through gentle movement, mindfulness activities, and creative expression, led by Wellness Educator Priscilla Padilla, founder of Living On Vibrant Energy, participants learn to build awareness, calm, and emotional resilience.
Grounded in nature and community, this program nurtures the mind-body connection and encourages everyday practices that support balance, focus, and well-being, helping children (and grown-ups!) feel centered, grounded, and truly here now.

Seeds of Kindness: Kids’ Garden Series

In this hands-on, heartwarming garden program, learners will explore the joys of growing, eating, giving, and caring for our community. Young learners will plant, tend, and harvest in our garden while learning about bees, pollinators, and the journey from garden to table by creating treats.
Each week offers opportunities for creativity, discovery, and connection as our learners grow plants and kindness alike, then share their harvest with others. Once we can harvest what we grow, we will be donating to The Pantry at MT Kisco.
It’s a fun, educational, and meaningful way to cultivate curiosity, empathy, and a love for nature!

Music with Dr. Mike

Music wth Dr Mike invites children and families to sing with joy, rhythm, and explore the sounds of jazz, Broadway, folk, and more.
Led by Dr. Michael Garber, whose 40+ years of music outreach inspire creativity, confidence, and community connection through music.
Learners will also have the special opportunity to join Dr. Mike and Dr. Sue for intergenerational community sing-alongs at the Fox Senior Center in Mount Kisco — sharing the magic of music across generations!
