For the past few years, For the People and Kids! has been proud to bring hands-on afterschool programming to the MKES community. This fall, we’re taking our partnership one step further with the launch of our new dual-language School Garden and Science Lab Residency!

Fall is a season of discovery! Join us for hands-on learning, outdoor adventures, and community connection at The Farm at Cabbage Hill, DIG Farm, local libraries, our Saturday programs, and commUNITY events.
From gardening, harvesting, and birding to farm ecology, mindful movement, nature exploration, and creative learning, our programs invite children and families to learn, play, and connect with the natural world.
Whether you’re getting your hands in the soil, spotting birds, exploring a farm, or discovering something new at the library, there’s a place for everyone this fall.

Family Tie Dye at the Farm at Cabbage Hill

Join us for a special Family Saturday filled with creativity, fall fun, and Halloween magic! 🍂🎃
Create your own one-of-a-kind tie-dye shirt with Hippie Feet Tie Dye, then explore the farm with a fall scavenger hunt and special treats for the kiddos.

Family Saturday: From Farm to Table
Saturday, November 7, 2026 | The Farm at Cabbage Hill 🌽 9:30–11:30 AM
Join us at the For the People & Kids Learning Garden at the Farm at Cabbage Hill, for our final Family Saturday of the season! We’ll celebrate the harvest, put our Three Sisters Garden to sleep for winter, explore our beautiful squash, and collect seeds to save for future growing seasons. Then, we’ll gather around the table to make delicious Three Sisters Soup with special guest Ms. Melissa, founder of Hauxhurst by Mel!
🌱 Make it a full morning on the farm!
Enjoy a full morning of hands-on family fun as we explore the Three Sisters Garden, discover the birds and wildlife that call the farm home, and learn how corn, beans, and squash grow together. We’ll explore our squash, collect seeds to save for next season, and help put the garden to sleep for winter. Then, with special guest Ms. Melissa, founder of Hauxhurst by Mel, we’ll turn the harvest into a delicious Three Sisters Soup to share!
Join us for one program or both as we celebrate the season, honor the garden, and make meaningful memories together. 🍂
Create Your Own Comic Book Hero
Join us Sat., 11/7 at the Ossining Public Library, from 2PM – 3PM
Ready to tell your own story? Join us for an action-packed session where you design, sketch, and assemble your own comic book. From power-up origins to epic battles, we’ll help you bring your hero to life from start to finish. All supplies provided.

Meet us at the Farm: Field Trips
Join us on Fridays for an unforgettable day of hands-on learning at this beautiful local working farm. Explore the gardens and greenhouse, meet the farm animals, visit the magical For the People and Kids Learning Garden, and wander along the peaceful paths throughout the property.
Students and community groups will dig in the soil, discover where food comes from, explore nature, and harvest fresh produce to taste. Each visit inspires curiosity, creativity, environmental stewardship, and a deeper connection to the land and one another.
Bring your students, community group, or organization and experience learning beyond the classroom, where the flowers are everywhere and every path holds a discovery!
Fall Homeschool Extended
By Request: We are adding two additional dates to our Homeschooling Tuesdays at DIG Farm.
This is a stand alone registration for these two November dates, extending our Nature-Based Rhythm This Fall! Our immersive Fall Learning Garden Program gives children the opportunity to explore, create, discover, and grow through meaningful, hands-on experiences in nature.
Each farm day includes three engaging one-hour classes, creating a purposeful three-hour learning experience. While every class offers its own unique focus, the curriculum is intentionally connected through our STREAM-based approach, bringing together Science, Technology, Reading/Research, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics through real-world experiences.
