CommUNITY ART Workshop

Monthly: On Tuesdays, 1/27, 2/10, 3/17, 4/21, 5/19, and 6/16

Join us each month for our Free Community Art Workshop, led by Art Educator Dr. Sue. These inclusive workshops are open to all ages and skill levels and invite our community to come together to create art in a welcoming, supportive space. Celebrate self-expression, connection, and creativity while learning from an experienced art educator. Select pieces created before March workshops will be featured in our March Art for All Exhibit, allowing participants to showcase their work and be part of a shared artistic experience.

Winter Sowing

How Do We Plant in the Winter?

Discover the secret to winter planting by turning everyday plastic jugs into tiny greenhouses! These mini greenhouses protect seeds from the cold while letting in sunlight and rain—so when spring arrives, your seeds are ready to sprout into strong, happy plants.

Why Join?
Get hands-on with planting, explore the magic of growing even in winter, and take home your very own garden kit. All supplies and jugs are provided.

Valentine Tie Dye Workshops

Woodpecker Discovery Adventure

Educational Nature Excursion

Join For the People and KIDS for a fun, hands-on excursion to the Bedford Audubon Society to explore the fascinating world of woodpeckers, our curious and sometimes noisy feathered friends!

The program begins with a colorful slideshow introducing woodpeckers as marvels of nature—discover how their unique skulls and tongues let them drum on trees, extract food, and create nesting habitats that benefit the entire forest. Learn to identify the sounds they make, meet the species common in Westchester, NY, and understand their fascinating behaviors.

Seed Paper Making Workshop

Planting Creativity

Create paper that grows! In this hands-on, eco-friendly workshop, kids will transform recycled paper into plantable seed paper while learning about recycling, sustainability, and how plants grow. Blending art, science, and nature, each child will take home their own handmade seed paper to plant and watch bloom.

Fill Your Cup: Adult Workshop

A Joyful Vision Board Experience

Join us for a hands-on, in-person workshop designed to help you pause, reflect, and pour back into your own cup. All supplies are included, just bring your inspiration!

Begin by strolling the beautiful Caramoor grounds, drawing inspiration from nature as you uncover your personal Word of the Year. Then, gather in the art room to create a personalized vision board that maps out what brings you joy, clarity, and fulfillment. Enjoy guided discussion with a supportive group of like-minded women, light refreshments, and meaningful reflection as you set intentions for 2026.

Campus Roots: Garden Explorers

Wed., March 4 & May 6, 12:30 PM – 2 PM

The Native Plant Center at Westchester Community College, 75 Grasslands Road, Valhalla, NY 10595

Join us for a hands-on, inclusive garden program where learners connect with nature, dig into the soil, and explore a college campus garden! Led by Patty Butter, Garden Manager and WCC Educator, participants will help prepare the garden for spring, learn about native plants, and enjoy a guided tour of the thriving garden spaces.

Learners will have the unique opportunity to experience a real-world college environment while working alongside high school students with disabilities taught by Dr. Sue, fostering collaboration, empathy, and community.

This program is designed to be inclusive, educational, and fun, encouraging curiosity, confidence, and connection to the natural world.

Muddy March Magic: Nature’s Messiest Fun

If there’s one thing we can count on in March, it’s mud! Join us at Onatru Farm Park & Preserve with the Lewisboro Land Trust for a hands-on outdoor adventure where kids will explore, play, and learn all about this messy, magical part of nature.

From splashing and squishing to discovering how mud fits into the changing seasons, this program is all about getting outside and embracing the fun of nature—dirt and all!

Why Join?
Encourage outdoor play, spark curiosity about the natural world, and let kids learn through hands-on, sensory-rich experiences. It’s a joyful way to celebrate the arrival of spring and make unforgettable muddy memories.
